Fresh food shouldn't be a barrier to fostering
We started the Feed a Foster program alongside GRANT because we wanted foster carers focused on giving a greyhound a soft landing, not on the grocery bill. We're the first nutrition partner in the NT to back a greyhound rehoming group with both fresh food and gut support.
How the program runs
Every dog fostered through GRANT is supplied with human grade raw meals and bones directly from us. We stay in close contact with GRANT so we know which dogs are currently in care, and we keep the deliveries running so carers always have food on hand without needing to chase us for it.
Each new arrival also gets a Gut Reboot Pack (Saccharomyces Boulardii plus Digestive Care) as soon as they enter foster care. A rehoming transition puts a lot of pressure on a dog's gut, and we want every greyhound settling in with that side of their health already looked after.
Who can take part
This program is available to foster carers across Darwin, Palmerston and the wider Darwin rural area.
If feeding a larger breed has held you back from fostering before, this takes that cost off the table completely.
We handle the food. GRANT handles the support around it. You give a dog somewhere to land.
What each foster dog gets
Human grade raw meals and bones
Every dog receives complete raw meals and meaty bones built on the 80:10:10 model, portioned to properly fuel a larger breed dog through every life stage.
Gut Reboot Pack
New arrivals get a Gut Reboot Pack of Saccharomyces Boulardii and Digestive Care, aimed at building gut resilience through the move into a new home.
Feeding amounts worked out for each dog
Dr. Roz reviews each dog's age and weight with GRANT before setting their feeding amounts and working out how much food they'll need over time.
A freezer stocked and ready
We keep a chest freezer running solely for GRANT foster dogs, topped up as needed, so carers never have to think twice about supply.
